Overdone

I tried to get this in yesterday, but damn I cooked myself. I threw a leg over the bike at 5:30 and it was still 92 degrees with between ten and twelve thousand percent humidity, madness. Also, when I was getting ready, I could tell my stomach was a bit on the unsettled side of life, but I rolled the dice and went out for a two and a half hour out and back. I was almost at the turn around and things were starting to turn over in the gut. I was a little nervous, but knew I would be okay. I spotted a guy up ahead, his legs spinning like crazy, sans shirt, on a T-Mobile replica from a few years back, it took a little while, but I gradually overtook him, riding on the brake hoods. For some reason he saw this as an invitation to race. People, if you are passed on a random Monday ride, when it is raging hot, it does not necessarily mean game on!
Anyway, I eventually made it home, but what a wreck. I ended up puking the dinner salad up with some nasty light headedness and room spinning. I always enjoy heading out in the heat and torturing the crap out of myself, but yesterday I do believe I went overboard. I am still feeling it today, which is not good.
Oh, Hell's Kitchen, that could be the funniest show on tv.

Mission accomplished

Well, I hate to use that phrase after dub-ya in his halloween flight uniform used it on an aircraft carrier, that ass, but I did just what I wanted to. I did road rides on Monday and Wednesday, rode the mountain bike Tuesday and Thursday, then used Friday as a rest day with the thought of having a two and a half to three hour sufferfest today. All went as planned. Got to the trail at about 10:30, it was already 83 degrees and somewhere between ten and twelve thousand percent humidity. Damn was that narsty! Regardless, I rode well and am very happy. A few times I thought about turning around and calling it a day, but I pressed on. The strange thing is when I did finish, how soaking wet my feet were. No creek (crick) crossings or anything but damn that was nuts! I also stayed upright the entire time which was cool after breaking a rib a month ago after losing a two on one match between gravity and a tree. I am not sure what tomorrow is going to hold. I have a party tonight in the museam area of the city, so it depends on the evening and if hangover base miles (HBM's) are in the cards tomorrow. I do have a very wide masochistic streak and highly enjoy putting myself through alot of pain. Oh, another tidbit on the ride today, I went at it sans Ipod. Something I have not done in quite some time..

It begins

Friday night, rain crap, keeping me inside and off the bike. Bicycle, by the way. I was planning on taking the day off but this gives me a good reason to. I have six weeks starting tomorrow to get into some sort of shape before heading to Vermont for a mountain bike race. Anyway, the plan of watching the Sox-Yanks game turned to shit when I realized that it is not on TV. Yeah, maybe should have czeched that out before. Anyway, the day starts tomorrow with a trip to the grocery store, which always tries my patience. I need people to start obeying the basic rules we put on ourselves, the first of which is 12 item lines are just that, 12 items. Okay, enough of this crap, time to get at the nothing I have planned for the eve.
